solargraphies
Solargraphys are long-exposed images. As negative is black and white photo paper and the exposure times are from three months to one year.
The long shutter speed creates the illusion as if surveillance camera would continuously record the subject. Everything that happens in front of the camera is recorded in the image, but only stationary and slow elements are seen in the final image. The Earth's orbit, the changes in its angle as we rotate around the Sun, is revealed in the image as mystical streaks of light. The camera tied to a tree trunk swaying in the wind, or the curious interest of forest animals, causes surprising additional effects to the image. A fallen, or cut down tree leaves like a scar, a transparent ghost image to the print.
